Philip K. Dick. One of the most renowned sci-fi writers of all time.
His works have been adapted into great live-action sci-fi films like Blade Runner (1982), Total Recall (1990), and Minority Report (2002).
This is pretty much the only animated adaptation of his work currently in existence today - and
it was directed by the same person who previously made Waking Life (2001), Richard Linklater.

I'm pretty sure that no one here would be surprised to hear this, but this film was also created with rotoscoping,
in which live-actors were animated over film footages with what appears to be cel-shaded CGI animation with the help of
the software Rotoshop, iwhich was also used in Waking Life. Linklater is apparently working on another animated film,
which wouldn't surprise me if it's animated with rotoscoping as well.
